Catch 22

Bet at 5dimes

We as MMA fans can be fickle at times as far as the officiating and the judging goes, Its a tough job, I am not taking any credit away from those who put themselves in a position to where they have to make a split second decision.

Yves Lavigne was slammed by many critics after the Mac Danzig-Matt Winman fight, deservedly so, he stopped a fight prematurely and it was clear to most that Mac was still conscious as Winman attempted to choke him out.

Last Saturday at UFC 118 Marcus Davis was put to sleep by a Nate Diaz beautiful guillotine choke. Yves was slow to stop the fight, checking Davis's arm twice before he waved off the fight. I still think that you need to faster rather than slower to stop a fight. Protect the fighters, we want these guys healthy, to fight longer and live better when they leave fighting. Give them some rope, but when you believe in your eyes that the fighter has gone to sleep or is no longer defending him/her self stop the fight, protect them. I would rather a fight be stopped too early rather than too late.

Debut Blog

Out of the inspiration of Sports Illustrated's Josh Gross, I have created a third blog with the title, Fire Jon Schorle.

This blog is general MMA stuff including referee flubs, bad judging, and just stuff in general.

If you are interested in the gaming aspect of it check out my blog, http://bettingmma.blogspot.com

Yes wow Jon Schorle has had his fair share of flubs, most notably the stoppage and standup of Bobby Lashley vs. Chad Griggs.

What about the judging at UFC 118, I can't believe Cecil Peeples was the only judge to have it 20-18 for Nate Diaz after two rounds? Is that a little scary????? Is he starting to get better? Let's not jump to conclusions.

As far as good referees go, Herb Dean is the best in the business, bar none, after watching him potentially save Gabe Ruediger's arm from Joe Lauzon's beautiful armbar.

Any thoughts???????
